The course begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends in downtown Baltimore. “Part of our company mission is to help people in need. Philanthropic giving is an absolute must. My dad was diagnosed with ALS in 2010 and passed away in 2012. He was a great man and instilled in me the importance of giving back. Watching him endure this was painful. It totally changed my life. I am determined to help beat this disease by supporting ALS research to help find a cure,” says Steve Shanton, CEO and founder of Venture Construction Group.

A huge advocate for ALS research, Venture Construction Group is sponsoring numerous ALS charitable events throughout the country, including the Fiesta 5K Run for ALS Research in Baltimore, Maryland on May 2, 2015; the ALS Express-Ride to Defeat ALS in New Jersey on May 30, 2015; and the ALS Classic Golf Tournament on September 9, 2015 in Greater Chicago, Illinois.

According to the Robert Packard Center for ALS, many amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) – also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease – patients can live more productive lives with the illness because there’s a body of research into better ways of managing the disease. Improvements in nutrition and breathing techniques, for example, increase survival. Some 50 percent of patients live at least two years after diagnosis; 20 percent live five years or more and up to 10 percent survive more than 10 years. The Johns Hopkins Multidisciplinary ALS Clinic is a world-respected medical destination for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) patients.

“Our business is helping people with construction, restoration and repairs from storm events. Giving back to the community and helping support this needed research is very important to us,” says Steve Shanton, CEO and founder of Venture Construction Group.
