Insurance Restoration Assessment, Scope of Work, & Process

Venture will inspect your entire property both the exterior and interior. The exterior of your home or business including, but not limited to, your roofing, siding, gutters, downspouts, windows, A/C units, and your interior for potential water damages. We utilize the criteria established by your insurance carrier and industry standards set forth by engineering professionals such as HAAG engineering and other such organizations.

Developing The Scope of Work
During the process we will take the measurements, pictures, and detailed notes in order to ensure that the “scope of work” includes all damages sustained to your property and will not be limited to piece or patch work. These can negatively affect the appearance and value of your property.

Understanding Your Insurance Scope Of Work and Insurance Payment Process
Key Terms & Definitions:

  • Actual Cash Value (ACV) – This means is the amount of your total claim minus depreciation.
  • Depreciation – This is the “hold back” money based on the age of the items damaged. Typically this is recoverable once all work is completed. But however, there are a small percentage of policy holders that have non-recoverable depreciation.
  • Replacement Cash Value – This is the actual cost to do the repairs required.
  • Deductible – The amount of your claim that you are responsible to pay. This will be deducted out by your insurance company and you will need to pay this amount directly to your contractor of choice.

Paperwork Processing
Your insurance company will require paperwork sent over to issue ACV/Depreciation payments after the work is completed. Venture will handle all of this paperwork for you.

In many cases, payments issued from your insurance company will have both the insured’s name and the mortgage (if applicable as co-payee’s). With each Mortgage company there is an extensive amount of paperwork required when getting these checks processed. Venture will handle all of this paperwork for you.

Production Management
Venture will properly manage and complete the entire project per the final insurance scope of work (scope of damage to your property). Our project managers go through extensive training as well as each of our crews and tradesmen. We strive to make sure that all job sites are kept clean and safe as well as completed in a timely manner. We install all of our products per manufactures specs and local codes as well as completing our own inspections of each project to make sure that each and every project is held to our highest quality standards.

Supplemental Process
During the production process we may find additional damage that could not be foreseen such as plywood, insulation, sub-flooring, etc. In every claim you have the right to supplement for any and all items that would be related to the claim. Venture handles this process entirely and will alert the insured immediately if necessary.
